c1820 round black lacquered papier mâché snuff box depicting Lady Justice

This round snuff box probably dates to about 1820.

Believed to be English, it is made of black lacquered papier mâché.
The lid has been hand painted with a quite naive depiction of Lady Justice.
She is dressed in off white and is blindfolded.
She holds a sword aloft in one hand & a pair of scales in the other.

The edge of the lid has a red band running round it that has been decorated with raised round gold "buttons" many of which are missing.
